CARLOS TEIXEIRA

For Carlos Teixeira, a design facilitation expert and conduit of research and design applications in mobility, food, health, and energy, we have built a website, curated an immersion, and led the development of a new visual language.

Carlos' body of work is complex not only in its ideas, but because of its collaborative nature. Murmur Ring designed a website with original photography to present his portfolio in a digestible, visual way. Our project process included researching Carlos’ fields of study, interviewing Carlos’ collaborators and students, and capturing images in the studio and in the field.

We continue to partner with Carlos to design an approach and deliver timely, in-context content via digital channels.

“My teaching objective through these types of courses, workshops, studios, clinics, and laboratories is to prepare graduate and undergraduate students to be intellectually and technically empowered to play a leadership role in innovation-driven economies.”

— Carlos Teixeira

Everyday Infrastructures Immersion

Murmur Ring curated a single-day immersion in partnership with Carlos to investigate, advance, and amplify his work with the Action Labs at the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology to expand the notions of how infrastructures are defined.

Graphics & Visual Language

In collaboration with Carlos, we led the development of a visual language system and bank of graphic elements. These new visual assets have been incorporated into the website previously built by Murmur Ring for the designer, and will serve to enhance presentation and research materials as they are developed and distributed.

The language was developed to represent Carlos’ areas of focus, reference the abstraction at the heart of his work, and intrigue viewers.
